SINGAPORE, MONDAY 19 JUNE 2017 – For six days from 31 May to 5 June 2017, ezbuy.sg made Singapore e-commerce history when it’s annual 65eDay Global Super Sales reported significant triple-digit gains over 2016. ezbuy.sg, Singapore’s first and largest global shopping platform by page views and number of brick-and-mortar distribution points, netted $8.5 million in sales and saw over 1 million visitors browse 20 million products and named brands including Etude House, Ogawa, Philips and Sony, at up to 90% discount. These stellar numbers generated year-on-year growth of 250% in revenue and 130% in website traffic.

 

Mobile shopping hit record numbers with ezbuy.sg’s newly launched Singapore’s first mobile-exclusive Friends Deal channel. Over 300,000 visitors sought friends to buy items at 65% below retail prices via their smartphones during the 65eDay sale period. Friends Deal, accessible only via ezbuy.sg’s mobile site or app, is secured only when consumers keen on purchasing items featured on the Friends Deal channel are able to find sufficient numbers of like-minded friends keen on buying the same item. When the requisite number of people have made upfront payments in full, the product in question is secured and consumers can choose to have goods delivered to their homes at the cost of a small top-up fee upon checkout or pick up themselves for free at any of ezbuy.sg’s 277 physical self-collection points all over Singapore.

Another highlight of this year’s 65eDay was three days of Hourly Live Auctions via ezbuy.sg’s Facebook page. Over 60 items were listed for auction with 45,000 people viewing and actively bidding. The highest bid of $360 was awarded for a PS4 Bundle Set.

Wendy is the Co-founder of ezbuy Group Holdings – operating out of Singapore and Malaysia, and is the Chief Executive Officer of ezbuy Singapore. Wendy, a Singaporean citizen, is a First-class Honours graduate in Electrical & Electronics Engineering with a minor in Business from the Nanyang Technological University of Singapore and holds a Master’s degree in Industrial & Systems Engineering from the National University of Singapore. Prior to co-founding ezbuy (formerly known as 65daigou) in 2010, Wendy was a Product Engineer at Global Foundries (formerly Chartered Semiconductor). Wendy caught the technopreneur bug back in her university days. Whilst her peers stuck to the minimum core subjects curriculum, Wendy elected to take on additional business and e-commerce related modules out of sheer curiosity and interest. These extra modules paid off and opened another door to embrace the beauty of online e-commerce. Wendy got to learn and appreciate the ideation behind the convenience and savings consumers enjoy from online shopping. Technology companies are by far much more efficient than traditional brick-and-mortar shops and as a result, can report better capital performance. Digital businesses do not require heavy upfront investments and offer mobility and flexibility to operate anywhere, any time, and round the clock.
