But this 2020, we’re here to help you make a change. Here are 3 Fitness Tips to kickstart your #fitspo journey without having to commit to a gym membership!
1. Take the Stairs instead of the Escalator/Lift
It’s time to step up, literally. Since the escalators and lifts are always crowded, opt for the stairs instead to get your heart racing! For better support and to prevent injuries, trade out those slippers for a pair of running shoes.

2. Sign Up for a Fitness Class
Several gyms and fitness studios in Singapore offer free trials for first-timers, so you can take your pick from Yoga classes, High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) and more without burning a hole in your pocket!
i. Fitness First
First-timers enjoy a free one-day trial at Fitness First where they can choose to attend one of their fitness classes or hit the gym. We tried the BODYCOMBAT class which was pretty similar to kickboxing and it was so much fun!
Pro tip: if you sign up for a trial through a Fitness First member, you get to enjoy a three-day trial instead of one!

Choose from Sunrise Yoga at Platinum Yoga, HIIT Burn at Anytime Fitness (available from 20 Jan) and more, available for booking via the Healthy 365 app!
From now till 31 Jan 2020, first-timers enjoy a free one-month trial on ClassPass to book up to 7 fitness classes. Some cult favourites are Ritual Gym, Barry’s Bootcamp and Ground Zero, which offer HIIT cardio and spin classes.
HIIT workouts are great for increasing metabolism and burning fat so if you’re looking to lose some weight before meeting your relatives during CNY, we’ll see you in the red room!

If you feel paiseh attending these classes alone, jio a friend/colleague along and make sure you show up in a set of activewear that’s comfortable to work out (and sweat) in!
3. Download a Fitness App
A great alternative if you can’t make time to attend a fitness class or prefer to work out in the comfort of your own home. Most fitness apps offer guided workouts and are free for download on the App Store or Google Play Store.
Our personal favourite is the Nike Training Club, which offers completely free workouts that target different muscle groups with varying levels of intensity, and is suitable for individuals of all fitness levels. Complete a workout in as fast as 15 minutes with warm-up, cool-down and video guides included!
15 minutes a day go a long way so grab your phone, a yoga mat, some dumbbells and get working!
