Upcoming Sales Periods To Take Note Of
1. Thanksgiving Day Sales
Thanksgiving usually falls on the fourth Thursday in November. It is a federal holiday in United States of America – akin to what is known as a Public Holiday in our local Singapore term. Thanksgiving is considered a major holiday and technically, the longest paid vacation most people get as many companies tend to give the Friday after Thanksgiving off. If not, most employees will take a day of vacation leave on that Friday in order to reunite with their families during this holiday for a Thanksgiving dinner feast. When combined with the weekend, that is a total of four days off. Schools are generally closed during this period as well.
Prior to the actual Thanksgiving holiday, most online e-commerce retailers will hold sale events and offer a myriad of discounts to lure shoppers, working them into an online shopping frenzy when these shoppers start purchasing in advance so that they can have their items delivered to their doorstep in time before Thanksgiving. This is because most physical stores and businesses countrywide do not operate on Thanksgiving Day, and will remain closed throughout that four-day period.
2. Black Friday Sales
The day after Thanksgiving Thursday is called Black Friday — which is when the biggest sales of the year occur. It is also considered the official start to the year-end Christmas shopping season. Many e-commerce retailers hold large-scale Black Friday Sales to continue enticing shoppers to shop online during this time of festivity right after Thanksgiving Thursday.
In fact, most Americans patiently await the arrival of Black Friday in order to scour the web for the greatest deals and discounts online on popular e-tailers such as Amazon, which usually will give away deals and coupons in the week leading up to the main event of Black Friday itself.
To get your hands on the best Black Friday deals, research is key and Google will be your best friend to do so. Do you know that even after the entire day of Black Friday has ended, the sale madness will still not be over? 🤔 This brings us to the next mega sale day…
3. Cyber Monday Sales
Known as the day when the majority of Americans shop online for consumer electronics, Cyber Monday falls immediately on the following Monday right after Thanksgiving Thursday, Black Friday and the two-day weekend. Online retailers including Amazon and eBay offer massive discount on their electronic products like the Kindle e-book reader, and several other products such as the Amazon Echo as well as miscellaneous electronic paraphernalia.
However, it’s important to note that even if you didn’t manage to purchase every single item on your wish-list during Black Friday and Cyber Monday sales in time to give them away as Christmas gifts to your family and friends, you can still hold out and wait till the end of December — right after the holidays — as that’s when prices dip even further than the mega sales held in November!
Well, we’d advise you to plan out your shopping list and schedule accordingly and in advance so as to ensure that you can buy your products online before they get sold out or face any out of stock situations. Also, factor in the duration taken for shipment and delivery!
